This weekend marks homecoming at JMU.
And for some of the festivities, the men's basketball team held an alumni game at the Convocation Center Saturday morning.
Close to 50 former Dukes showed up, and that includes former head coach Lou Campanelli. The reunion was actually Campanelli's idea, who coached the Dukes for 13 seasons from 1973-85.
"It's a lot of fun," says Campanelli. "It's a big thrill, and to have the old players come back and meet the new guys, it's wonderful."
JMU second-year head coach Matt Brady wants the alumni game to be an annual event.
"It's morphed into this great opportunity for everybody to get together and share memories."
"It's been a real enjoyable experience, just to see the guys you played with and past Dukes and future Dukes," says former JMU forward Linton Townes, who played for four NBA teams. "It's been a real good time."
