Don't expect to see junior center Lauren Jimenez on the floor with her James Madison teammates when the women open practice later this month.

Coach Kenny Brooks said Thursday that Jimenez has suffered some setbacks in her recovery from a torn ACL suffered last season. Brooks said Jimenez could remain sidelined until December.

The news was better on another JMU junior recovering from an ACL injury, Brooks said.

Guard Courtney Hamner hurt her knee during postseason workouts last April. Brooks said Thursday that Hamner's rehab is ahead of schedule, and she could be able to resume practice in a few weeks.

Jimenez appeared in 21 games for JMU last season before tearing the ACL in her right knee in an early February practice. She had surgery on the knee in March.

Brooks said Jimenez had been dealing with an infection in the knee, and the junior had also been sick. He said Jimenez has undergone four surgeries since March.

The JMU women open practice October 16.
