Volunteers Help Remodel Plains Area Daycare Center

As part of United Way's Day of Caring, the Plains Area Daycare Center in Broadway will be getting a makeover.
The daycare's staff members have been waiting for this remodel for years.
The entire center will undergo renovation, including the playground.
Around 40 volunteers will paint, sand, wash windows and do whatever it takes to transform the daycare center into a brand new place for the kids.
The goal is to get everything done in a single day.
"Of course, we've been painted and patched, and all that, but we really needed to update things and get some equipment. And this has just been a wonderful opportunity for us to be able to partake in that," said Melissa Britt with the Plains Area Daycare Center.
"We have a lot of kids, and it's good to create a good environment for them, and to redo it and make it nice for them, because it needs to be redone," said Lee-Ellen Wine, one of the volunteers who will participate in the daycare remodel.
More than 100 children use the daycare center.
They got to help out in the remodel by picking out paint colors.
After deciding between pink or blue, they chose a sky blue shade.
