Huguely Case to Go Before Judge Monday

UPDATE:

A post-trial motions hearing has been set for June 29. Formal sentencing for George Huguely has been set for August 30. Judge Hogshire can either accept the recommended 26 years or give less.

The former University of Virginia lacrosse player was convicted in February of killing ex-girlfriend and fellow lacrosse standout, Yeardley Love. He was charged with second degree murder and grand larceny, a jury recommended he serve 26 years in jail.

Attorney Scott Goodman says that the defense attorneys will do everything in their power to lessen Huguely's second degree murder and grand larceny conviction.

"They don't want second degree murder, I'm sure they have poured over the transcripts since the trial to look for any possible error or avenue for reconsideration," said Goodman.
