Richmond Says Juvenile Center Deficiencies Fixed

A Richmond official says malfunctioning locks and other deficiencies at the city's juvenile center have been fixed but investigations of employees are continuing.
Carolyn Graham, deputy chief administrative officer for human services, says the personnel issues could result in actions by the commonwealth's attorney or the Virginia Board of Juvenile Justice.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/I1q433) reports that Graham updated City Council members on the improvements this week.
The state board put the juvenile center on probation in January. It will review the facility's status next week.
Virginia NAACP executive director King Salim Khalfani tells the newspaper that there are still problems at the facility. The NAACP raised concerns about the facility last fall.
