American Woodmark Jobs Returning to W.Va.

Posted: 3:15 AM Jul 19, 2012

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Cabinet maker American Woodmark plans to invest more than $15 million in its manufacturing operation in West Virginia.

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin said Wednesday that the company is expected to hire nearly 190 employees for the Moorefield facility over the next three years.

In December, the company had said it was closing the component facility in Hardy County. But Tomblin said that through a partnership with the company, the West Virginia Development Office and the Hardy County Rural Development Authority, officials are seeing the jobs return to the area.

Winchester, Va.-based American Woodmark Corp. operates nine manufacturing facilities located in Arizona, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. It also has nine service centers across the country.
