Hundreds Show Support for Sullivan at Silent Vigil

Hundreds gathered on the steps of the Rotunda to express support for Teresa Sullivan through silence.

"We are very clear that we are standing strong in our commitment to the future of the university and our intention was that we stand in silence to make that commitment more poignant, more clear," said Gweneth West, Faculty Senate Past Chair.

After brief remarks from the Faculty Senate, the group of students and professors stood in silence for three minutes. They're hopeful the silence will deliver a message to the Board of Visitors expressing their disgust in the ousting of Teresa Sullivan.

The Faculty Senate is moving forward. They have a closed door meeting with the Interim President Carl Zeithaml scheduled for Thursday morning.
