Community Launches Website to Help Alleged Shooter
Back in January, Rudolph Dean was placed in jail without bond after allegedly shooting Robert Crawford in Elkton.
This past weekend, a website, www.FreeRudyDean.com, was launched to help get Rudolph's side of the story out.
A few concerned community members started the website and they believe Dean was the victim acting out of self-defense when he allegedly shot Crawford.
One of those people working on the website is Cindy Carr and she copied court transcripts and placed them on the site for people to judge for themselves. She hopes this will help Dean get out on bond.
“There's nothing that any of us feel a threat by this man being on the street,” said Carr. “We would hope that if we were in jail in this situation that someone would speak up for us, to say, 'Wait a minute. What's going on here?'”
Dean is scheduled for a bond hearing next Thursday, July 12th and his trial will be at the end of September.
