The bank of the South River in Grottoes has had problems with erosion after floods tore through the bank during the last year.
Thanks to a $50,000 grant from the Virginia Department of Forestry, the bank is being restored, with brand new rip raff to protect the bank.
Town Manager Ashley Jacobs says, "It benefits visitors to our park who use the bank for fishing access, and it benefits the Department of Transportation and stabilization of their bridge structure."
The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries is also helping in the restoration.
The makeover is expected to be complete by next week.
