Businesses in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County are trying a new method to keep James Madison University students in the area after they graduate.

The Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with JMU to try to make the community more appealing to potential businesses.

The program is called Vision 2020.

The chamber is looking for ideas from students, faculty and residents.

"What's the best way to approach the subject in the future, in terms of a live-able community, a great work environment, great transportation, quality of life, the whole range," says Frank Tamberrino, president of the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce. "So that again, we can keep, retain the talent that we've got here now, retain more in the future as well."

This city is such a nicer place when the JMU students are on break. You can drive through the city without being run over, you can go out to eat, etc. Why do you want to encourage them to stay here? Will you people be happy when Harrisonburg is the size of D.C. and we can no longer let our children play outside and we have to sit it traffic for an hour just to get to work?
