After four days of running from the authorities up the Eastern Seaboard to Pennsylvania and then back down to the Winchester area of Virginia, an alleged sex offender was caught. Police caught up with 46-year-old William Mitchell on Saturday.

Polk County, Florida Sheriff Grady Judd says, "Now our goal is to see that he never breathes another breathe of air outside of prison."

Mitchell is a wanted sex offender.

Judd says, "Virginia State Police swooped down upon him at gun point, arrested him and he offered absolutely no resistance."

Mitchell ran after he alleged lured a 15-year-old Florida teenager from her home. Mitchell and the girl were seen together on surveillance tape.

Police found the victim the day after her disappearance after an Amber Alert was issued.

Judd says, "You’re not going to lure and take our children away from us without paying a heavy price."

Mitchell led authorities on a man hunt through many states along the East Coast. On Thursday, authorities received information he was in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

But it was another tip Saturday morning that led to the arrest at the Flying J Truck Stop in Winchester.

Roger Frank, victim's father, says, "When we got the news today about that he was caught, it was absolutely the best joy in the world. We're very happy my daughter's doing fine she's going to be OK."

Mitchell is being held in the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center, and will appear in court in Virginia before he's extradited to Florida.
