Teen Charged for Augusta County Shooting

The Augusta County Sheriff's Office says a 15 year old has been charged following a shooting Monday night.

The shooting occurred on the 200 block of Gravel Ridge Road near Waynesboro around 11:30 p.m.

The teenager, who lives in the area of the shooting, has been charged with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

A 50-year-old man suffered three gunshots wounds and was flown to the University of Virginia Medical Center.

As of 7 a.m. Tuesday, the victim is still at UVA in critical but stable condition.

At this time, there is no word on the relationship between the teen and the victim.

The investigation is ongoing.
