Two automobile makers have issued recalls because of faulty systems.
Nissan is recalling nearly 700,000 Altima and Sentra cars because of problems with a sensor that could lead to engine stalling.
There have been no reports of crashes or injuries in connection with the issue, but the problem could cause the engine to stop running with no warning while the car is being driven at low speeds.
The company says owners should take their cars to dealers to reprogram the electronic control module.
The recall affects 2002, 2005, and 2006 Altima and Sentra vehicles equipped with a 2.5 liter engine.
In another recall, Toyota is recalling more than a quarter million Lexus model cars.
Twenty-six-thousand of the effected vehicles were sold in the United States.
The company says the problem is faulty fuel pipes, which can leak in luxury Lexus models GS350 and IS250.
