The Augusta County Sheriff's Department says 24-year-old Melvin Humphries is now in police custody.
They believe Humphries abducted his girlfriend, 21-year-old Christina Burke at gunpoint this weekend.
Humphries and Burke are now in Pocohantas, West Virginia. Burke was found unharmed.
Just hours before the announcement, we talked to Burke's grandfather, who insisted she would not voluntarily go with Humphries. He said she would not have got in the car voluntarily with him.
The sheriff's department says Humphries will be extradited to Staunton.
