The announcement is less than a month old and already opposition is building.
Minor league baseball may be coming to Harrisonburg, and some concerned citizens are letting their voices be heard.
Harrisonburg resident Ben Fordney says this project already has the ingredients of the golf course controversy a few years ago.
"I hope that the city council will be open to what the citizens think, and I think the best way to do that is through referendum," says Fordney.
Once the city decides who will get the job, the developer will hold a series of public meetings.
