Streetscape Moving Forward in Waynesboro

Downtown Waynesboro is finally getting its long awaited face-lift.

Waynesboro officials announced Monday the Streetscape project is moving forward.

VDOT has signed off on the improvement project.

Waynesboro's parks and recreation and public works will do most of the work themselves.

The goal is to enhance the aesthetics of the downtown through a series of changes, including removing parking meters and lining the street with new banners.

The project will cost more than half a million dollars, but the city is only responsible for twenty percent of that.
