Businesses across Augusta County are throwing their support behind American Idol hometown favorite Colton Berry.

Berry is the Staunton teen who is currently one of the top 24 finalists on the show.

From the Consumers Auto Warehouse in Staunton to the Waynesboro McDonalds, many are displaying support for Berry through signs and message boards.

Mike Floyd who works at Consumers Auto Warehouse came up with the slogan on their sign as a way to support the teen.

"It was really something just to get the people around town to show support for Colton. Everybody knows him. Everybody wants him to win and a couple years ago, we have Chris Daughtry from Fluvanna come and he's doing great now."

Many signs are also taking shots at Simon Cowell, the one Idol judge who did not want Berry to move on to the finals. However, he proved Simon wrong.

I am from Northern Virginia and was wondering if Colton does guest appearances around the state of Virginia. I have an event that I would love for him to make an appearance at. Does anyone know how I can contact him?

Colton Berry is one of the most talented kid here in the state of Virginia. He's my favorite singer from American Idol. I voted for him on Tuesday February 19th. I was disapointed to see him get voted off of American Idol.

Colton you rock! When you got kicked off American Idol I started crying and me and my mom started thinking how Randy and Paula said, "keep singing and follow your dreams," but Simon said, "I don't agree with them!" and that was mean. I thought you were a really good singer and I hope you follow your dreams. I Am 8 years old and my name is Alex. Since Simon made nasty comments about you I don't want to watch American Idol but if you got back on American Idol, I would watch it. Good luck to you!

Colton Berry left American Idol after only one performance which is a big loss for American Idol. Colton in my opinion was the best performer of the top 24 for that week. I bought his recording and it's great. I love it!!!! In my opinion Colton is the Season #7 American Idol.

His age doesn't matter because he can still get an education but also take the opportunity at hand and persue his dream now.

His age will be a negative. He needs to complete his education and then pursue his dream.
