Drought? No Drought?

The recent above average rainfall has boosted river levels and replenished wells. But some officials say a wet winter is needed before the three-year drought can be considered history.

Others are more optimistic. Meteorologist Anthony Siebers of the Wakefield Weather Forecast office says for all practical purposes, the drought is over.

He says all we need now is normal rainfall over the next four to six months.
