Staunton police have been responding to accidents since 10 a.m. Sunday morning, from one end of the city to the other.

They've reported 19 accidents total; Harrisonburg has had 13 and Waynesboro 10. The Rockingham County Sheriff's Department and the State Police have been too busy responding to calls to even start counting.

Officials say the best thing you can do is stay home.

"My advice would be if you don't have to be out just stay at home and wait this out," said Officer Chris Hartless of the Staunton Police Department. "But, if you have to go out make sure you give yourself ample time. Take your time and pay attention to what's going on around you."

The amazing thing about Sunday's events, out of the 42 car accidents that we know of police officers say no one was seriously hurt.
