"You play the hand your dealt- and make the best of it," commented Special Olympics President Rick Jeffrey.
And make the best out of it they did- 100 Special Olympians from all over Virginia met at Wintergreen Resort in Nelson County Monday.
The athletes were training for Tuesday's Special Olympic ski event, held annually at the resort.
"Its great fun- but we have to try very hard," commented Special Olympian Claude Hammer. "I love it."
The Winter Special Olympiad lasts until Tuesday.
