The Miss Wheelchair Virginia Pageant hit the Valley Saturday afternoon, as hundreds came together to crown a new winner. And the winner is: Rose Williams, who will serve as your Miss Wheelchair Virginia for 2008 and 2009!
TV-3's own Jamie Curott and Melanie Lofton were on hand to judge and emcee the pageant. After receiving a standing ovation, flowers, and her crown, Williams was happy and proud.
Williams says, "I feel very proud of my accomplishments as a person with disabilities, and I'm thankful that I was able to be with these truly, extraordinary women."
Pageant festivities carried on through Sunday.
