Virginia State Police are asking if you are Virginia's next traffic fatality and they say chances are high if you don't buckle up.

From Monday to June 1, Virginia State Police are participating in the nationwide Click It or Ticket Campaign.

Troopers will be on heightened alert while patrolling interstates and highways, looking for people who fail to buckle up.

The Highway Safety Challenge, initiated by the Virgina Department of Motor Vehicles, VDOT and VSP call for drivers to do five things:

- Buckle up
- Avoid distractions
- Share the road
- Don't drink and drive

Posted by: Rusty Location: Shenandoah, VA on May 17, 2008 at 12:57 PM The coffers must be running low, time for some revenue generation. It must take a person of great character to use the power given to him by the people to site them for something they are exempt from. What is good for the goose should be good for the gander. Lucky, they use the entire 46.2 section to find a reason to pull you over, then you get the seatbelt ticket.

I'm here to tell you all please stress this to your HUSBAND, WIFE, CHILDREN. A yr ago May 31st I lost my wonderful husband and father to my girls by being ejected from a vehicle. He would have never wanted to leave us so soon and I'm sure if he had it all to do again he would have listened an wore his seat belt. I can't tell you for there are no words to describe the pain and emptiness it leaves to lose someone so suddenly! I know there are many of you that can relate to what I am saying so please stress the importance of this LAW! If it saves one life it was worth while!! We no longer have SHANE with us today and it's the hardest thing a person will ever have to go through. THIS ISN'T TO BE JUST ANOTHER LAW IT REALLY CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE OF YOU OR YOUR LOVED ONES RETURNING HOME OR NOT!
