JMU's head honcho let someone else be the boss Wednesday.
Dr. Linwood Rose and other university staff were at Friendship Industries to lend a hand as part of the United Way's Day of Caring. The group tasked Rose and a few others with installing new rubber door stops.
Rose says he doesn't mind trading in the suit and tie for a pair of jeans. He actually likes it.
"I have some hobbies that involve some hands on kind of things and it's always nice because, to do something like this, because you feel a sense of accomplishment," says Rose. "It may not be a particularly challenging job, but at least it's something that you can start and finish and see your results."
The United Way helps Friendship Industries fund rides for its employees. The agency trains and employs those with disabilities.
