An early morning accident on Interstate 81 could have ended much worse for two drivers Thursday.
State police say Mary Lehnert from Mt. Sidney was going north on 81 when her Suburu was struck head on by another vehicle.
A PT Cruiser driven by Anny Orellana-Tarrazas crossed over the median near mile marker 249 just outside of Harrisonburg, causing the accident.
Lehnert was transported to UVA for serious leg injuries while Tarrazas suffered minor injuries.
Police say driver distraction caused the crash and Tarrazas will be charged with reckless driving.

I know the person was "distracted" and the comments about the phone is not true. I feel angry and sadden that these two people involved in the collision have to go through this pain.
