Virginia is preparing for what is expected to be the biggest election day in the history of the Commonwealth.
Officials with the Virginia State Board of Elections say they are trying to hire at least 10,000 more people to work the polls this November. That would raise the total number of poll workers to 30,000.
Officials say the extra staff will help keep the lines short on election day.
One way they plan to increase their numbers is by partnering with corporations. Several different companies throughout the state have already agreed to give their employees the day off so they can help work the polls.
