In Clarke County, sheriff's deputies continue their search for the suspect in a double shooting.
Jose Cuevas-Gonzalez of Boyce is suspected of shooting two men near historic Long Branch on Nelson Road Wednesday afternoon.
One man was killed and another was hospitalized. Police are not releasing the identities of either victim, but they do say both are Hispanic.
Deputies searched Cuevas-Gonzalez's home Wednesday night and seized miscellaneous paperwork including Western Union receipts and a Department of Motor Vehicles registration card.
Anthony Roper, Clarke County Sheriff's Office, says, "So, when you take the circumstantial evidence that puts him in the scene withing a few minutes of the incidence taking place. The fact that he has fled the area, not responsive to attempts by people to contact him, he has some very, we have a significant amount of questions that Mr. Gonzalez is going to have to answer."
A neighbor says she saw a black Escalade with North Carolina plates in the Cuevas-Gonzalez's driveway around 1 p.m. Wednesday, shortly before both victims were found.
Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Clarke County Sheriff's Office.
