After more than a dozen boys scouts and one adult contracted E. coli infections, boy scout officials have decided to close the Goshen Camp for an indefinite amount of time.
The popular camp officially closed it's doors at Noon Sunday. So far, at least 17 boy scouts and one adult became ill after camping there. Officials also said on Friday that 50 to 60 others reported feeling ill.
In a statement by Scout Executive Alan Lambert, he says, "As of today, the source of the bacteria remains unconfirmed. Our Council immediately decided that closing Goshen Scout Reservation was in the best interest of the scouts."
Lambert says the boys effected were at the camp between the days of July 28 and August 2.
