Shenandoah County Sheriff's deputies say a card game ended in a robbery at a truck stop. Deputies say a man was playing cards with some strangers at the Wilco Travel Plaza off Interstate 81 in Toms Brook last Wednesday. They say the man was ready to place a bet and he was holding $1,000.

That's when deputies say one of the other men playing cards grabbed the cash from the man's hand and ran away. Deputies say the victim tried to stop the thief, but couldn't block the entrance in time.

Rockingham County Sheriff's deputies have arrested two men accused of causing nearly $3,000 in damage in a vandalism spree. The damage happened at a home on Barbershop Lane in Elkton on Tuesday. Jeffrey Gammons and Dakota Pittman, both of Elkton, were arrested. They are accused of damaging a window, a windshield, two trees, fence posts, and some lawn ornaments.

The Augusta County Sheriff's Office reports a 1996 tan Suzuki Sidekick has been stolen. It is worth $3,000. Deputies say it was reported stolen on Saturday from Frontier Drive near Staunton.

Waynesboro Police have arrested two men they say are responsible for a pair of burglaries in the city. The latest burglary happened Monday night at the Brandon Ladd Apartments. Police say Steven Shiflett and Justin Cash, both of Waynesboro, stole a handgun, some beer, and more than 100 DVDs from one of the apartments. During the investigation, police say the two were also linked to a gun theft on West Main Street from earlier this month.

Staunton Police have arrested a fugitive from Maryland. Anita Higgins was wanted for failing to stop for an accident in Maryland. She was found in Staunton and arrested on Tuesday.

If you have information that may help police make other arrests in any of these ongoing investigations, please give them a call.
