The Staunton City Council discussed financing options for a new firetruck in the city Thursday night.
The City Manager ordered the truck last December and made a $100,000 down payment on it from the state fire programs fund, but now, they need to pay for the rest.
City council members have the choice of covering the remaining $357,005 through the Virginia Resources Authority, available state finance programs, or by issuing bank qualified general obligation bonds through a request for proposal process.
