Harrisonburg Police have reopened part of Route 42 from Edom Road to Mount Clinton Pike after a car accident Tuesday morning closed the road.

Police say a car hit a power line and knocked down what are believed to be Verizon phone lines.

There were no reports of power being out.

Harrisonburg Electric Cooperative was on the scene assessing the damage.

Would like to know what happened to the driver. What caused the accident. Any latest updates. Didn't see anything on the 5 or 6 pm news last night.
