Half of the charges against a former Harrisonburg auto salesman have been dropped for the time being and a grand jury will consider the other half.
Garth Shrader was a sales manager at the Charlie Obaugh Auto Group until he and another employee were arrested in March.
Shrader faced drug and embezzlement charges as well as two other charges of obtaining money by false pretense.
Court documents show four of the eight charges against him were approved by a grand jury on September 15.
Police say, during a four month investigation, they found Shrader exchanged the use of dealership cars for crack cocaine.
