A dozen cadets from the Virginia Military Institute are making a historic 80 mile march up the Valley.
The First Class cadets started in Lexington on Wednesday, and on Friday, they marched the 26 miles from Staunton to Harrisonburg.
The entire march is happening along Route 11 to commemorate the march of hundreds of cadets along the same route in 1864 to help at the Civil War Battle of New Market.
The group will arrive at the battlefield on Sunday, where a group of freshman will take the Cadet Oath.
