The Town of Timberville is debating whether fluoride is needed in their water. There will be a forum Monday night to discuss the issue.

Both sides of the municipal water fluoridation issue will be represented at the Plains Elementary School Auditorium. A question and answer session will follow the forum.

Dr. Lisa Syrop with the Virginia Department of Health will be speaking in favor of the practice, while dentist David Kennedy will present the opposing side.

A big issue that will be raised is if fluoride is needed for low income families.

Town Manager Austin Garber II says, "The problems is, if the low-income families can't afford to go to the dentist, how are they going to be able to afford to buy bottled water to reconstitute the formula to feed to the infants."

Most children now become fluoride toxic with fluoridation having forever damaged enamel called dental fluorosis. Pizzo 2007 review clearly showed 51% with this condition and no reduction in social inequities for cavities. When fluoridation ended no increase in cavities either just as WHO data has shown for years. Most developed countries do not fluoridate and decreased cavities as much and often more. Income is the biggest factor so it is easy to select groups with the desired results. The York review 2000 discover not one of the 3200 studies reviewed to be high quality bias unlikely and proving ingested fluorides value. Indiana tested all dental professionals and only 17% understood the new science that fluoride is not a ingested benefit but only topical after tooth exposed. That means fluoridation is useless except to give lifetime enamel damage and body toxicity. only 14% got it right in Illinois. Dentists repeat ADA talking points
