The Winchester man accused of killing his son is being held without bond after appearing in court Wednesday.
Sixty-eight-year-old Charles Walker appeared in the Winchester-Frederick County District Court via video link at the Northwestern Regional Jail.
The judge denied Walker bond and appointed an attorney. He's charged with first degree murder and two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
In 1992, Walker was found guilty of two firearms charges and served seven years jail time.
Police say he shot and killed his son after an argument Monday on Highland Avenue in Winchester.
Walker's son, 47-year-old Bobby Jackson, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Walker is scheduled to appear in the Juvenile Domestic Relations Court October 22 at 3 p.m.

Mr. Walker should surely be ashamed of himself. Bobby was my advisee at college; he was always kind and polite. He always had a smile and wanted to complete his college degree. He had worked really hard to finish his goal, which was taken from him by his father. My condolences go out to the family.
