After leading police on a chase Wednesday night, a Bridgewater man has been charged with hit and run, DUI and driving on a suspended license.
About 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, an off duty Harrisonburg police officer put in some overtime by chasing down a man officers say hit six cars along Route 42.
Witnesses and police say Nathon Kight was speeding down the street when he rear ended one car and sideswiped another. However, as he approached the intersection of Route 42 and Mount Clinton Pike, he crashed into several other vehicles. He then got out of his car and ran from police.
When police caught up with Kight, they charged him with hit and run, driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license. He was taken to Rockingham Memorial Hospital for his injuries and his condition is unknown.
Two other people were hurt but they were treated at the scene and are said to be fine.
