Invista Plant Cutting Production
Officials at the Invista plant in Waynesboro say Hurricane Ike has disrupted some facilities in Texas that supply raw materials to Invista.

The active hurricane season is causing one local company to temporarily cut production and jobs.
Officials at the Invista plant in Waynesboro say Hurricane Ike has disrupted some facilities in Texas that supply raw materials to Invista. As a result, about 70 contractors that work with Invista will temporarily be let go. The contractors work with The Mundy Companies.
Invista officials say production and employment will return to normal when the raw materials return.
Erica Taylor, Invista's Public Affair Manager, says, "What is happening is our employees are taking back some of the roles performed by contractors temporarily until we receive our previously supplied amount of raw materials."
