No Progress in Missing Man Search

Park officials say no significant clues have yet been found in the case of a missing Staunton man in the Shenandoah National Park.
Shenandoah National Park Rangers are searching for 50-year-old Earl Funk, who was last seen around 1 p.m. in the Cedar Mountain area on Monday.
Friends and volunteers conducted a hasty search of the area Monday night and Tuesday morning. Friends reported Funk missing to the Albemarle County Police Department Tuesday. Albemarle County Police Department and the Albemarle County Sheriff's Office searched the area until late Tuesday night.
The search has centered on the Cedar Mountain area both on park and private land. Operations will continue through dark Thursday evening and resume Friday morning.
Funk is described as a white male with brown hair and green eyes, 5 foot 8 who weighs approximately 145 pounds. He is wearing dark pants and a light shirt.
More than 70 employees and trained volunteers, including ground searchers and two dogs teams are currently involved in the search. The search is a joint operation between Shenandoah National Park and the Albemarle County Sheriff's Office.
These agencies are currently being assisted by the Albemarle County Police Department, Virginia State Police dog team, Dogs East, Blue and Gray Search and Rescue Dogs, Greene County Sheriff's Office and Appalachian Search and Rescue.
