If you have not yet registered to vote, the deadline to file a Voter Registration Application Form is only hours away.

With the presidential race so close in Virginia, the state is seeing a record year for voter registration. According to the State Board of Elections, more than 360,000 voters have signed up since beginning of the year.

In Harrisonburg, nearly 2,000 residents have registered since the beginning of September.

This means Valley registrars are spending their weekends and after hours in their offices.

Debbie Logan, Harrisonburg's Registrar, spent the weekend in the Harrisonburg Municipal Building's Voter Registration Office. She has hundreds of applications to go through before the deadline, October 6 5 p.m.
