Police say one adult, and three children have been found in the Augusta Springs Wetlands, but the search continues for two other children Sunday.
The Augusta County Sheriff's Office says they will be increasing patrols overnight. They also say the 49-year-old West Virginia woman, who was familiar with the area, left with the children around noon.
Sixty people joined in the search to look for the group initially, including a State Police K-9, helicopter, and several all terrain vehicles.
The authorities, as well as the woman's husband, had made several attempts to contact the woman on her cell phone, but had no success.
Cpl. Donald Arnold says, "Our understanding is one of the children is kind of rambunctious and he runs off, and it's a possibility that the adult has been trying to locate them."
Police are gathering information from friends and family, and are continuing the search through the night.
