Two of the children from a weekend hiking expedition are still missing in the Augusta Springs wetlands area.

The woman who led the five children on the hike was found with three of the children Sunday night, and she is currently helping scour the area for the other two.

The two children, 11-year-old Khari Dawn Hatfield and eight-year-old Zen Ezra Phelan Darby, are believed to be together, but officials are not sure if they are.

Hatfield is a white girl about 5 foot 8 inches tall, weighing about 80 pounds with long brown hair. She was wearing sandals and a one-piece green dress with a red stripe at the bottom.

Darby is also white, about 4 foot 6 inches tall, weighing between 50 and 60 pounds with short, light brown hair. Hatfield's father says Darby, a friend of Khari, was last seen wearing gray sweatpants, a maroon t-shirt, dark socks, and silver and gray sneakers.

There are concerns because neither child has any water with them and may not be prepared for colder night-time temperatures.

The Augusta County Sheriff's Office says between 100 and 200 people have come out to help, including up 50 local volunteers. They are searching a ten-square mile area for the children.

Officials from several departments are on the scene, including police, fire and rescue, forestry, and others. Augusta Sheriff Randy Fisher says they will keep looking as long as there are resources available.
