A Harrisonburg man is in jail Friday facing charges of felony hit and run following an accident late Thursday afternoon.

State police and Rockingham County Sheriff's deputies took 40-year-old Charles Milton into custody around 8:00 p.m. Thursday.

Police say Milton was making a right turn into the Economy Inn on Route 11, which caused the driver of a southbound car to swerve into northbound traffic.

That driver, 24-year-old Jose Cruz of Harrisonburg, then hit an SUV head on.

Cruz was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the SUV, Brenda Waugh of Innwood, West Virginia, was taken to RMH with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Milton is being held at the Rockingham County jail.

It is not yet known if alcohol was a factor in the crash.

I think this man should get charged with manslaughter for the young man who died because of a stupid thing that he done. My friend was killed a year and a half ago and that driver got nothing so I think the courts need to stand up and make this guy pay for what has happened to someone who barely got to live his life!! This is sad and he should pay!!!
