Family, friends, students, and teachers have put up a memorial to remember 17-year-old Cody Hassett.

A cross was erected for the Buffalo Gap student at the spot of the fatal car accident on route 262 in Augusta County.

While no specific plans for a memorial have been set, a moment of silence will be observed at the school's football game Friday.

Cody was one of the most kindest guys I've ever met. If you need anything he would be one of the first people to help. He will be missed a lot. We Love you Cody
