Today is a big travel day for the fourth of
July weekend, and you can expect to see more state troopers on the roads.
State and local police are joining forces for "Operation Care" aimed at reducing crashes, fatalities and injuries caused by speeding, impaired driving and failure to use seat belts.
Officials say the fourth of July weekend is the second most deadly holiday period of the year.
Last year, 16 people died on Virginia roads during the holiday.
Operation care wraps up Tuesday night.
