A heartbreaking, terrifying moment that paralyzed a Valley community. Now, family members of two victims killed during a shooting at a local business are filing lawsuits.

The families of Gary Gibson and Bonnie Sue Crump, both who lost their lives in the shooting May 16th, have filed a combined $20 million lawsuit against the business and the shooter's family. The lawsuit papers stat American HomePatient had knowledge the shooter Brewer Hoover, Jr. was dangerous.

They say several employees, including Crump, reported Hoover's behavior. The lawsuit stats American HomePatient did not fire Hoover after the complaints and failed to provide a safe work environment. The file also says Hoover openly confessed being romantically infatuated and obsessed with Crump and held a false belief that Crump was having an extramarital affair with Gibson. The lawsuits include a $350,000 compensation for punitive damages.
