It's the first step in a project that could be the biggest Staunton has ever seen.
Staunton city council is starting to put together Public-Private Education act guidelines for development of the Western State Hospital property. PPEA guidelines are mandated by the state to allow private proposals to develop public facilites or land.
With Western State building a new 80 million dollar hospital, there is potential for big time development with the left over land which combined, totals more than 450 acres.
