A local cab company is trying to get its license renewed just weeks after it was found to have misused state inspection stickers on cars.
According to Harrisonburg's Transportation Director, ABC Cabs has now gotten the proper inspection stickers.
This issue arose late this summer when state police charged two men with improper use of the stickers. It was found that the company bought stickers for 16 cars without ever having them inspected.
Now, the company is going through its regular five-year license renewal with the city.
Transportation Director Reggie Smith says the company's previous cooperation with the city is part of the reason he's recommending their license get renewed.
"We weren't directly involved, but we made sure in a very reasonable amount of time that they had new inspection stickers on there," says Smith.
The Harrisonburg City Council will take up this issue Tuesday night at its regular meeting.
