A special open house gave people a behind-the-scenes look at the Wildlife Center of Virginia in Waynesboro Sunday.
The center opened its doors to the public, giving people a rare opportunity to see the inner workings of the hospital.
The free event also gave families a closer educational look at the center's animals, from owls to snakes.
Veterinary Intern at the center, Natalie Hall, says, "Open houses are fantastic. There is a lot of energy. People are very excited to come through and see the hospital and see first hand what we are doing here."
The center's next open house will be held March 15. Reservations are required for the event. Call the center at 540-942-9453 for more information.
