Efforts to open a motocross park in Augusta County continue.
Greenville resident, Terry Argenbright, and the Augusta County Board of Zoning Appeals conducted a sound test in the new location for a motocross park near the Pilot Truck stop in Greenville this past weekend.
It's to give residents a feel for what they can expect, and the test was offered by Argenbright to reassure residents who may have problems with noise from the park.
Augusta Supervisor Nancy Sorrells says there is still a variety of opinions circulating after the tests were conducted.
She says, "There are some people who are excited about this and didn't think it really caused them any concern. There are other people who felt like it was an intrusion upon their lifestyle and were quite concerned about the noise."
This sound test is one of many things Argenbright will need to do to move the project forward.
His next step is to reveal a traffic plan that will need to be approved by the Virginia Department of Transportation.
