Huckabee Comment Draws Laughs, Outrage

A one-time presidential contender's trip to Virginia Thursday is becoming an Internet sensation, but Democrats aren't laughing.

Republican Mike Huckabee made the joke while campaigning for former Attorney General Bob Mcdonnell in Tazewell County Thursday. Huckabee's comments drew laughter from the crowd of supporters. Mcdonnell is running unopposed for the GOP nomination for governor.

"You have two jobs. One, get all those people who are going to vote for Bob out to the polls and let them vote and if they're not going to vote for Bob, you have another job. Let the air out of their tires and do not let them out of their driveway on election day," comments Huckabee.

However, Democratic candidate Terry Mcauliffe isn't laughing.

Mcauliffe says "This is no joking matter. People died for the right to vote in this country, and we have to protect it."

The former Democratic National Committee chair faces fellow Democrats Creigh Deeds and Brian Moran in a June primary for their party's nomination for governor.
