There are more than 5,000 free books waiting for children to pick them up as part of the seventh Annual Harrisonburg Kids' Book Festival on May 16 at James Madison University.
More than 4,300 children are expected to attend the event.
The free books promoting literacy also come with free food and entertainment for children and parents.
Barbara Roadcap of WVPT is coordinating the event.
She says, "Cubby will be there to greet them. I'm hoping that Clifford the Big Red Dog will be there. Curious George will be there, and they will all enter into a world of literacy."
Roadcap says there will be 49 activity tables for children and lots of live entertainment.
Our very own Yuna Lee is hosting the event and WHSV will have Cubby and Curious George on WHSV's News @ Noon on May 13, 2009.
